W. John Bennett

Co-Founder

John is Chairman and Co-Founder of MKB and has nearly four decades of successful investment and merchant banking experience. He was also Chairman of New Look Vision Group Inc., prior to its successful sale in 2021.

John began his career with McLeod, Young, Weir Ltd., and was Executive Vice-President and Member of the Executive Committee when it was sold to the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1987 to become Scotia Capital Markets. Since then, John has been principally involved in direct investments on his own account and on behalf of associated investors in Canadian and international businesses through Benvest Holdings Ltd., and Bennett Church Hill Capital Inc.

John has served on the board of many public and private companies and educational and charitable foundations. He is Director of the Canadian History Society and other educational institutions and is an active philanthropist. He holds an Hons. BA and an LLB from the University of Toronto and is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada.
