Kenneth MacKinnon

CEO & Co-Founding Partner

Ken MacKinnon and John Bennett co-founded MKB in late 2007 along with Patrick Bennett. As MKB’s CEO, Ken is responsible for MKB’s overall strategic direction and performance. He also oversees fundraising activities and deal execution and is directly involved in the management of portfolio investments.

Formerly a Managing Director at Merrill Lynch & Co., Ken led the Merill’s successful technology investment banking practice in Canada for several years. Prior to co-founding MKB, he was a Managing Partner with Miralta Capital, a private equity management firm. Ken began his career in investment banking with McLeod, Young, Weir & Company Ltd. and also served as CFO of a publicly traded merchant bank.

Ken is a Dobson Fellow at the Dobson Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at McGill University and is an Institute of Corporate Directors certified director. Ken has a B.A. from McGill and an MBA from the Ivey School of Business.
