Richard is a Senior Partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions, Capital Markets & Securities, Private Equity, Hedge Funds & Venture Capital and Life Sciences practices of the law firm of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg. For more than three decades, Richard has been a senior legal partner to some of Canada’s most important public and private companies and financial institutions, advising on acquisitions, divestitures, investments, public offerings and private placements.

A long-time member of Davies’ Management Committee, Richard served as Managing Partner from 2000 to 2015. He is Vice-Chairman of the Montréal General Hospital Foundation and a former Director of New Look Vision Group Inc. He has served as a director of several public companies and is often called upon to advise boards of directors regarding their strategic choices.

He holds an LLB from McGill University and a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University.
