MKB Welcomes U.S. – based Partner, Jesse Teichman

MONTREAL, QUEBEC – December 22, 2022 – MacKinnon, Bennett & Co. (MKB), a North American private investment firm focused on the energy transition, climate tech, food and ag and related sectors, is pleased to welcome Jesse Teichman as Partner.

“Jesse is a seasoned energy and climate tech investor whose deep sector expertise will complement MKB’s strong existing presence in these markets and enhance the firm’s relationships in the United States”, said Ken MacKinnon, MKB Co-Founder and Managing Partner. “We are delighted to welcome Jesse to our team and look forward to the insights and experience he will bring to our existing portfolio companies and to our third energy transition fund to be launched in 2023”.

Jesse has worked to enable energy innovation for over 20 years as an investor and in senior commercial roles within startups and global companies including GE and Chevron.  His early experience includes technical management for marine propulsion and power generation projects. With Chevron Technology Ventures, he was a founding member of Chevron’s climate-tech focused Future Energy Funds – $100m Fund I and $300m Fund II – and led over a dozen investments in EV infrastructure, energy storage and advanced power generation.   Jesse also spearheaded the deployment of numerous technologies within Chevron and its partners. In his role as Partner, Jesse will be responsible for driving new investments, supporting existing portfolio companies and strengthening MKB’s technical expertise.

“I am honored to join MKB at such a pivotal time in the energy transition.  I have come to know the team quite well in recent years, and quickly recognized their expertise and thoughtful views on the transformation of energy systems. The conditions are right for this change to occur at scale, and I look forward to helping MKB and our partners continue to lead this effort. ”
